CINDY ZELINSKY's Bio

Cindy Zelinsky is one of the most accomplished NCAA collegiate coaches and private pitching instructors in the country.  From her  professional playing days to her eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament as a coach, Zelinsky focuses on core fundamentals and mental development of her student-athletes. 
 
Over the past two years, Zelinsky has been a strong ambassador of the game working as a private instructor and collegiate pitching coach in the Midwest region. She has authored her first pitching instruction and drill book and is a speaker for the National Sports Clinics. Prior to this, Zelinsky was the head softball coach at Washington University in St. Louis. She began the program in 1999 and coached the Bearsfor six years, leading them to four NCAA Tournaments, 3 Conference titles and a 7th place National ranking in 2005. She coached 6 All-Americans and numerous All-Region players. In 2005, the Bears were ranked number 1 for six straight weeks, had a 29 game winning streak, finished the season with 25 shutouts and a number 1 ranking in NCAA III for ERA. The Bears finished 47-3 losing twice to the eventual National Champion. Zelinsky’s record at Wash. U was 178-64 and is a member of the National FastPitch Coaches Association 300 win club. In 2005, Zelinsky was honored with the St. Louis ESPY award for the best collegiate coach in St. Louis, male or female of any division.
 
She was also the Head Coach at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota for 3 seasons, leading the program to the NCAA tournament each year with a 30+ record and a number 9 national ranking in 1999. Prior to St. Thomas, she served as the Gopher’s pitching coach at the University of  Minnesota for two seasons.
She was a four-year letter winner at Wayne State College where she was named NAIA All-Conference and All-District. She helped guide Wayne State to a seventh place NAIA national finish. Zelinsky played six seasons with the Omaha Merchants, a women’s  professional-level team.
